Mellwood Arts & Entertainment Center Website debuts...

Press Room :: Louisville, KY

Mellwood Arts & Entertainment Center officially launched their Website today in partnership with Xpressions Interactive.

The Mellwood Arts & Entertainment Center is located on 42 acres of land in close proximity to River Road, downtown Louisville, I-71, Frankfort Avenue & Lower Brownsboro Road.

This creative project is the brain child of developer John Clark, who wanted to convert the former meat-processing plant at 1860 Mellwood Ave. into artists' studios, art galleries, space for dancers and actors, a cafe and meeting rooms. The complex, called the Mellwood Arts & Entertainment Center, would also have a lawn that could be rented for concerts, festivals and other events.

The plant's three large buildings, which have a total of about 360,000 square feet, would remain. However, windows and other animating features would be added to help soften the industrial look.

"We are very proud to be a part of this magnificent community art center", said Shamir Dasgupta, CEO of Xpressions. "Community Arts Centers such as this builds stronger bond with local talents. We are very excited about this project."
